Chris McCurry trusted Christ as his Saviour in January 1989 while serving in the U.S. Army in South Korea. Several years later, the Lord called him to be a preacher of the Gospel. As God moved him around the world while serving his country, he has also had the opportunity to serve the Lord in various church leadership positions (assistant pastor, deacon, Sunday school superintendent, bus ministry director, etc.). In May 2006, Brother McCurry was ordained to the work of the Gospel ministry under the authority of Harvest Baptist Church (HBC).
In December 2009, after 22 years of military service, Brother McCurry retired from active federal service to serve as the Assistant Pastor at Harvest. In March 2013, he relocated to Topeka, KS, where he served 11 years at South Knollwood Baptist Church. In April 2024, HBC called him to be their pastor.
Pastor McCurry and his wife, Ruth, have three sons; all three are married. Chris and Ruth have three grandchildren.
